Instagram is rolling out several new Instagram features designed to make connecting with friends and discovering content even easier and more fun.

You can now share your favorite public reels and posts with friends using the new repost feature! When you repost something, it shows up in a dedicated tab on your profile, so your followers can easily see what you recommend. Not only does this give creators a boost by increasing the visibility of their content, but you also have the option to add your own notesāwhether itās a quick reaction, some commentary, or extra context for your followers.

Want to share your adventures or just keep close friends in the loop about where youāve been? With opt-in location sharing, you can now share your most recent active location with select friends. Plus, you can explore content from others thatās tagged with locationsāgreat for travel inspiration or just checking out what your friends are up to. Your privacy is in your hands: location sharing is fully customizable and can be turned off whenever you choose. Thereās also an added layer of safety for families, as parents can supervise teensā location sharing through dedicated settings.
š„ New āFriendsā Tab in Reels
The new Friends tab in Reels brings you even closer to your social circle. Here, you can easily see which reels your friends have liked, commented on, reposted, or even created themselves. The tab also includes content from Blendsāshared recommendation groups for discovering even more personalized posts. If youād rather keep your activity private or want to see less from certain friends, there are controls to hide your own actions or mute updates from others.
With these updates, Instagram aims to make your experience more social, interactive, and safeāgiving you new ways to share, discover, and connect through the content and people you care about.
